The ships are being sailed in the traditional manner with the seamen hoisting the sails manually. With an almost 1:1 ratio of crew to guests, the ships offer attentive service, making guests feel as they are on a private yacht.

Atmosphere & Experience onboard

Exclusive, relaxed, informal. A Sea Cloud sailing is a comfortable, sophisticated experience marked by an outdoor atmosphere and friendly camaraderie among the passengers. Shore excursions, including water sports and snorkelling, and casual relaxation are the top activities onboard, though cruisers do attend the occasional lecture or evening entertainment offering. Daytime sailing is also popular, and cruisers are drawn on deck to see the sails raised and lowered and enjoy the dramatic approach to port.

The main attraction during the day is savouring the classic maritime atmosphere and experiencing the proud sailing tradition. Weather permitting the bar is open on deck in the evenings. The small size of the ships allows us to visit small harbours and even islands that are out of reach even for medium size vessels.

Exclusive events: Throughout the year there are themed cruises, including food/wine and musical cruises, as well as exclusive VIP events ashore .

Inclusions

Sea Cloud guests receive a complimentary welcome bottle of Champagne, as well as all soft drinks, juices, water and basic coffee and tea throughout the cruise. Wines and beers at lunch and dinner are included, as is a fresh fruit basket replenished daily.

Meals are also included – from early-bird breakfast to the exquisite 4-course dinner menu with choice of main course and 5-course gala dinner. Gratuities and the use of water sports facilities are part of the cruise fare, and emails can be sent free from an onboard laptop.

Clientele

Most passengers are affluent, well-educated and European, but you’ll find a small mix of Americans, Canadians and Australians, too. The median age is 40, and while couples and groups of friends dominate, you will find families onboard during school holidays and parents with their adult children all year long.

While a lunchtime buffet awaits you each day, sometimes against the more casual backdrop of the lido deck if the weather is nice, the evening meal is served in a more elegant setting with a four-course menu. The icing of the cake is a five-course gala dinner. As with any private yacht, you can simply sit wherever and with whomever you choose.
